Uta no Prince-sama Season 1

Synopsis

With dreams of becoming a composer and someday writing a song for her favorite idol, Haruka enters the Saotome Academy, a prestigious performing arts school. If successful there, she’ll be able to join the Shining Agency after graduation. However, it won’t be so easy when Haruka is already surrounded by potential idols and composers. On top of that, her homeroom teacher is a current idol, the headmaster was a record-breaking singer, and the academy itself is a chaotic place where anything can happen. Which prince of song will be paired up with Haruka?! Uta no Prince Sama is an exciting, coming-of-age romantic comedy that will be like sweet music to your eyes and ears!

Aiming to pass the Shining Agency New Talent Discovery Audition held at graduation, the academy student's first assignment is the recording test. Unfortunately, Haruka, who is unable to write sheet music, is paired up with Otoya, who has no experience writing lyrics. Will the two of them be able to pass the assignment...?!

Thanks to being raised since she was a child by her music-loving grandmother, Haruka is confident in her ability to play the piano. However, for some reason, she is unable to play in class. Seeing Haruka shrink in response to her classmates' slanderous words and become increasingly depressed, Masato takes action.

Triggered by Masato's actions, his roommate and childhood friend Ren begins making passes at Haruka. However, Ren makes a habit of neglecting the academy's assignments. When Haruka learns Ren has received an ultimatum from the academy and may even be expelled, she begs him to turn in his assignment on time, but...?

Syo admires the teacher of the S Class and currently active idol Hyuga Ryuya. News of an amateur audition to co-star with him comes flying into the academy. However, due to Syo's fatal weakness, his odds of getting the part seem hopeless. When Haruka and her friends discover this, they formulate a plan to help Syo overcome his weakness.

Today is the day of Haruka's idol HAYATO's new song announcement event. Ignoring the concern of her friends, Haruka heads into town alone in high spirits, but she ends up lost just as her friends predicted. Just as she reaches her wit's end, she happens upon Natsuki and greets him, but Natsuki isn't his usual kind self...

Haruka has gradually become accustomed to life at the academy. Her grades begin to rise, and surrounded by friends, every day shines. However, she continues to carry doubt in the corner of her heart... Haruka finally discovers Tokiya's grave secret.

A summer overnight trip on the principal's private island in the South. Her classmates excitedly discuss the graduation audition, but still unable to close the gap between herself and Tokiya, Haruka's expression is gloomy. A strange young man appears before Haruka. What is the message he wants to convey...?

28 August 2011 - Weaving Dreams

Their summer overnight trip over, Haruka and her friends find the deadline to select their partners for the graduation audition waiting for them. However, the more Haruka learns about their earnest feelings, the less she is able to choose a partner. The situation takes a turn for the worse, and the atmosphere at school grows increasingly awkward...

The principal of the academy cuts Haruka out of STARISH's debut, saying that she is not worthy to write their songs. Haruka visits her grandmother's house in the country to do some soul-searching.
